As usual, during the year of 2019 ISO gathered the number of management system certificates issued by the certifying entities, accredited by IAF MLA members. ISO has already published the results on its page regarding to this subject: https://www.iso.org/the-iso-survey.html
In 2019, the certificate counting methodology that was defined for the 2018 Survey was re-used, allowing for the collection of more consistent data and a comparison with data from the previous year. The results of the ISO survey contain three sets of data:
• The number of valid certificates for each country, for the 12 ISO management system standards that were analysed;
• The number of sites covered by the certificates for each country, for the 12 ISO management system standards that were analysed;
• The number of certificates by sector and by country for 10 ISO management system standards (ISO 22000 and ISO 13485 do not contain data on sectors).
Compared to 2018, there has been a noticeable 3.8% increase in the total number of valid certificates for the 12 standards included in the survey. This situation is partly due to the increase in the ISO 45001 certification published in 2018 and, consequently, the limited number of certifications in the previous edition.
A greater number of issued certificates could be verified in all the standards, with a respective 0.5% and 2% increase in the two most represented standards, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 respectively, compared to the number of certificates issued in 2018.
