APCER, as the Certification Body of BSL - Comércio Internacional, SA, hereby invites you, as an interested party, to participate in the public consultation on the supply of controlled forest-based material, to be carried out under the process of extension of the certification of this organization to Mozambique, according to FSC-STD 40-005 V3-1, within the FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
The purpose of this public consultation is to assess the risk of wood supply from Gondola and Sussundenga Districts (Manica Province), in the following Categories of controversial origins, defined in Annex A of FSC-STD 40-005 V3-1 Requirements for o Consumption of FSC Controlled Wood:
• Controlled wood category 1 – Illegally harvested wood;
• Controlled wood category 2 – Wood harvested in violation of traditional and human rights;
• Controlled wood category 3 – Wood harvested from forests in which high conservation values are threatened by management activities;
• Controlled wood category 4 – Wood harvested from areas being converted from forests and other wooded ecosystems to plantations or non-forest uses;
• Controlled wood category 5 – Wood from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted.
This public consultation is addressed to the stakeholders of BSL - Comércio Internacional, S.A. - interest groups that are related, affect and are affected by the organization and its activities.
