FSC® Forest Management certification is awarded to companies and forest owners who demonstrate sustainable forest management practices, respecting social, environmental and economic principles.
FSC certification has been adopted by various companies and forestry entities as a commitment to conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable development. Through responsible forest management practices, companies and forest owners contribute to the conservation of natural resources, socio-economic development, and the construction of a more sustainable future for present and future generations.
APCER offers FSC® Forest Management Certification (FSC® A000537) for Portugal, Spain and Brazil, through accreditation by ASI - Assurance Services International. As a certification body accredited by ASI, the certificates issued by APCER are internationally recognized.
We also offer FSC Chain of Custody certification for organizations in the forestry sector, from extraction to marketing to the end consumer, to certify their forest-based products as coming from responsibly managed forests, facilitating their access to the ecomarket.

The FSC® and its benefits:
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a non-profit, non-governmental, international and independent organization. It was founded in 1993 by a group of suppliers and traders of wood, and by representatives of environmental organizations and human rights associations. The FSC is made up of three chambers – economic, environmental and social.
The FSC’s Mission is to promote Responsible Forest Management which establishes the FSC Principles and Criteria for environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and cost-effective forestry management.
The FSC supports and promotes the development of national and regional standards according to its mission; it accredits and monitors certification bodies that use the FSC standards.
