APSCA's 2025 Annual Report confirms a clear trend: social auditing continues to strengthen the standards of competence, ethics, independence, and integrity expected of the professionals who carry out these assessments.
In 2025, APSCA Member Firms conducted more than 191,000 social compliance audits across 162 countries, highlighting the global scale and reach of the profession. One of the report's most significant findings is that 97.5% of these audits were led or supervised by a Certified Social Compliance Auditor (CSCA), demonstrating the sector's continued commitment to auditor competence.
Professional development also remained a key priority, with more than 190,000 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours recorded throughout the year. At the same time, APSCA further strengthened its ethics oversight and disciplinary framework, reinforcing the transparency, independence, and credibility of the profession.
These developments reflect the increasing focus of regulators, brands, and organisations on issues such as human rights due diligence, forced labour legislation, and responsible sourcing.
For organisations, the message is clear: beyond meeting compliance requirements, it is increasingly important to ensure that social audits are carried out by competent, independent professionals who adhere to the highest ethical standards.
